Chocolate-Blueberry Barbecue Sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, diced
1/4 c. Galena Cellars Chocolate Port
1/3 c. cider vinegar
2-1/2 pints fresh blueberries (we used fresh, from the Galena Farmers' Market)
1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
Large pinch of chili powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1. In a skillet over medium heat, warm the oil and cook the onion and garlic, stirring, until softened about 5 minutes.

2. Add the wine and vinegar and bring to a boil, scraping up the browned bits sticking to the pan.

3. Transfer to the slow cooker and add the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low until thick, 6-8 hours.
